Even small elephants cast long shadows

Let’s just say for arguments sake that there really is an afterlife where all of history could be revealed to you, what would you like to learn the truth about?
Personally I would like a couple of things explained to me, like:

  • Who killed JFK?
  • What made the dinosaurs go extinct?
  • Jimmy Hoffa, is he really dead or just lurking around somewhere?
  • What really happened in Roswell in the fifties?
  • What or whom killed Tutankhamen?
  • Did Hitler commit suicide in that Berlin bunker?

What would you like to know the answere to?

We have a wine club at the bank I work for and we have 6 testings each year. We get to taste red and white wines, Cava and Champagne, wine and chocolate, wine and cheese, Punch and calvados.

On today’s testing we got to test both red and white wines from Bourgogne and there was some kind of quiz in which my group came third.

This wine testing business is really a very preppy thing bordering pretentious. Not my style, however, next time we are going to test Bag-in-box wines below 100 SEK, which may actually be of some use to a mediocre wine sipper such as myself.

Do you have days where you think that you can see which turn your life is going to take?

I’m having one of those days today. I’ve somehow always thought that I would go for a management position of some sort. Today, I think not. I don’t want to be held responsible for other people’s performance or lack of the same. I don’t want to risk having to hassle people about their deliverance and such. No…in the end of the day I want to be able to let go of all work related thoughts, pack up my stuff and leave, well within office hours.

There’s so much more to life than work. Guess I’m not as ambitious as I thought I was. Hmmm…that’s good I think.
So, on that note I’m off to Eken Bar to have a drink with my dear colleagues and J.

Q & A’s from the CD convolute of the Belle & Sebastian album “The life pursuit

From Jenny:
Q.
Damn…string players do seam quite “sexually sophisticated don’t they…why is that?
A.
They know how to fiddle from an early age.
Stuart.

From Sparky:
Q.
If Bono owned one of your albums which do you think it would be?
A.
The next one, like us, he has still hasn’t found what he’s looking for.

I managed to get my hands on 4 tickets to the sold out Robbie Williams concert in July. I’m extremely exited. You see, my sister asked me months ago if I wanted a ticket and when I heard that the concert wasn’t in Stockholm but in Gothenburg, 450 kilometres away I backed out. I’ve been kicking myself ever since, thinking that If I was so stupid as to give it up I didn’t deserve that ticket. But hey, obviously my luck has changed and now I have not one but four tickets. (Loud happy exclamations)

I visited my old aunt the other day (she’s 89 years old) and we came to talk about the technical revolution of mobil phone. She commented on my phone being small as I picked it up to answer one of J’s text messages. “-It is awfully small that one”, she said. “-Yes”, I answered and showed her the phone. My mother threw herself into the conversation saying, “-It has a TV!”. Hihi…I corrected her saying it had a video function and that I could record small films with moving pictures and sound.

My Aunt looked incredulously at me, “Naahha?” she said and squinted her eyes. “-Let me show you”, I said and filmed a short sequence of her telling her to look my way and wave to me. She never quite got the drill but she liked watching “her” little video.

My aunt is more or less hearing impaired so she doesn’t get half of what you tell her. But, she kind of guess what you’re asking her and when she’s not totally sure she answers with Yes or No which makes her answers right about 50% of the time.
