From the monthly archives: May 2006

I observed some old ladies on the bus the other day. They were old, but happy, giggling almost when talking of some old memory. They had probably known each other since forever. “-Yeah, I know that was fun! And do you remember when we went to Italy together in the 60’s…” Chatting away they were and left me thinking of me and my girlfriends, of how our relationships will be when we come to be old bats like those two. Will we still be friends, close friends? Will we still borrow clothes from each other? Go to parties and hang out with the boys? Go shopping together (with those shopping bags on wheels)?
Bet I’m not the only person who wonders how life is going to be…many years from now…

When are we leaving Joachim?

And I’ mean that literally…I’ve knocked about one of my dance partners today. I managed to elbow him straight in the face when we were doing the new turn we learnt. You can imagine how embarrassing that was to me…jeeze…and I’ probably made it all worse by instinctively hugging his head…hihi…he looked kind of surprised at that. He will probably never dare dance with me again.

Apart from this little calamity the Salsa lesson was e x t r e m e l y fun. Dancing gives me such energy so hereafter Tuesday is officially the best day of the week =)

The cherry blossom (sakura) is Japan’s unofficial national flower. Apparently the Japanese celebrate that blooming time of the year with special cherry blossom viewing parties under the blooming trees, the parties are known as hanami. People drink, eat, and sing during the day and night. It is like a picnic. Kind of like in Kungsträdgården outside of my office where the whole park is filled with people sitting under the canopy of blooming branches. Oh well…apart from that the people are’nt singing but hey, we’re Swedes so what did you expect =) The blooming time is very short so I’m going to get out there myself during my lunch break to enjoy the cherry blossoms.

Strip away the layers and reveal your soul
You got to give yourself up and then you become whole
You’re a slave to yourself and you don’t even know
You want to live the fast life but your brain moves slow
If you’re trying to stay high then you’re bound to stay low
If you’re already there then there’s nowhere to go
If you’re cup’s already full then it’s bound to overflow
