We had a department conference yesterday where the theme was Reflection.
My boss has been away on this big leadership program with the firm and learned all about how to capitalize on the value chain of our business…Jada jada jada…Okay so I’m not totally happy with these nonsense terms (floskler) that our management constantly uses; but some of the thoughts behind them are all right.

Reflection was summed up for us yesterday as:
Do it – Reflect on what happened – Make sense of what happened – Make a plan – Take action
We also talked about Fit vs. Sexy solutions where a Fit solution is when we standardize to reasonable price while Sexy is tailor-made to a higher price.

As a treat for putting up with this yapping for a couple of hours we got to go Go-cart racing. Super fun! I could absolutely feel a pair of horns coming out of my forehead and I drove like a maniac, still I didn’t finish better than 2nd place in my final heat (there was two), due to my leaking gas tank.

I refused to slow down even though gas was pouring onto my legs and feet but then eventually, when I reached the Pit, I switched cart and went back into the race. Made me mad as hell though. I mean…I can totally handle that I loose by my own hand but to having to finish 2nd place due to cart failure was hard to take.

Go cart

After this racing battle was over we went to Skeppsholmen to have a pick nick whit wine, beer and pasta salads. I left at about 21.30 but apparently some of the brave once staid on until 2 pm, and it shows today I can tell you =)

Aren’t they just fabulous?! Well? Well?

The Death-match. One winning and Sweden is still in the game. What If we loose? This doesn’t feel good. Not good at all. The margins are so slim. The line between fiasco and success is very thin…little is needed for success, just a couple of points.

We know the team can lead the game when they play on top of their ability. Last time they couldn’t, they kind of ruled the game (from where I was sitting) but didn’t manage to finish T&T off. And still goals are all that counts. There are no points for leading the game. Goals please!

Of course I hope for Sweden to win, I will be clued to the telly but then in the end of the day, it’s only soccer huh?!
”Vi e svenska fans allihopa!!!! Let’s win with 2-0 tonight! Okay?

The air is hot and humid, sizzling, and suddenly you can hear conversations much more clearly. People talk louder, more uncandidly and they turn to face each other. The outside environment becomes a living room and the murmur from the balconies mix with the inner yard gossip and the park bench conversations.

We find ourselves conversating strangers at the outdoor café, a short conversation with the woman behind the cash register at the local grocery store and people smile at each other on sweaty busses.

We knew this, didn’t we? That what is a typically Swedish lie in the harsh climate? Not so strange then that we, during winter, are cold inside out, reserved and very thankful for the booze when we have to fight to keep our blood circulating.

But then there comes a little warmth and we defrost.
So simple, so geniusly, like frogs frosen solid for the winter.
I’m going out into the summer heat to defrost a little bit more, hopefully I’ll meet you there.

Spaghetti

An abstract tangle made up of the same coloured lines used on the Tube map itself, as chaotic as a plate of spaghetti. Bright, colourful and humorous. Something for SL to pick up maybe?!

We got a Magnolia tree for the balcony.

Magnolia

It is really beautiful even though its blooming time is in April and we just missed it, short of one little pink bud.
