I went to IKEA yesterday to pick up some boxes to organize all my stuff. There’s a free bus to IKEA Kungens Kurva and it takes about 20 minutes to get there. I was in and out in less than one hour I’m proud to say. IKEA is otherwise the kind of place where you can spend hours.

Went home, cleaned out my drawers, organized everything into boxes and actually cleared out two more shelves for Joachim, who thought I had hit my head or something. He has never seen me being so organized =)

Did you know that:
IKEA Kungens Kurva is inspired by the famous Guggenheim museum in New York!

That the two first syllables in the name IKEA is short for Ingvar Kamprad (you probably knew that) But what about the E and A? Well, Elmtaryd and Agunnaryd. Elmtaryd was the name of the place where Kamprad was born and it is situated in the village of Agunnaryd, a couple of Swedish miles outside of Älmhult in the south of Småland.

The IKEA products catalog is one of the largest printed publications in the world with its yearly 70 million copies of which no more than one in twenty is Swedish. The catalog is printed in 12 different languages.
