When I came home yesterday after work I didn’t feel one bit for jogging. Joachim (full of character) gave me the evil eye and ordered me to go and change into my tracksuit. Feeling reluctant I finished a short round on 2.9 kilometers. Afterwards it felt great as always and I thanked him for pushing me. We’re a good team, him and me in many ways.

Speaking of team, Hammarby can’t be proud of their supporter organisation since they made the team look bad on Söderstadion last night. Guess there will be some severe punishments awaiting the Hammarby team. I just hope that they take it out on the supporters hwo instigated this royal f**k-up.

Swimming cap Yesterday I got myself a swimming cap which I tried out screaming early this morning before work. We got up at dawn (well it felt like it anyway) and took off to Eriksdalsbadet and by 10 to 7 we jumped into the outdoors pool. Mostly elderly people doing laps whom I out swam (is that even a word?) and had to pass in order to avoid being hit by their leg kick. Then there were the semi professional swimmers training laps in the lane next to me. They have a fierce speed and efficiency in their strokes. I’m not quite there yet…

I swam 1000 meters and was satisfied with that as a beginners round. I can feel how the body is finding new muscles which is a good thing I’m sure. Just hope I can still see it that way tomorrow when I have to role out of bed because I’m too sore to get up any other way. Maybe Joachim can kick me out or something.

Come on Girl, you can do this! You’re looking fiercely strong, straight back, chins high, chest out, breathing easily. Push it a little bit more! You’re great!

Drill instructor

I’m being my own Drill instructor, and boy do I need one!
While I’m running I’m telling myself how good I am and how I’m going to finish 5 km under 40 minutes at a higher speed than the last time. I’m a pretty nice Drill instructor though compared to the one’s we’re used to hear aren’t I?

Jogged: 5 km in 40 minutes at the speed of 7,6 (an increase of 0,4 since last time)

Jogged 5 kilometers today (took 40 minutes). The new trainers are great apart from a hissing sound when I set my right foot down, you know this irritating noise that can just bug you to death as it repeats with every second step you take =)

I was more or less alone in the Gym, no people to look at, nor is there any TV-sets. Luckily I have a very vivid inner life with happy pictures flickering for the inner eye. And my iPod of course. Otherwise this running thing would be a drag. And speaking of iPod, M wondered if I went ahead and got Nike’s new trainers with the build in iPod. Now that would have been something to tell the (future) grandkids.

Nike+iPod=true

Got myself some fast-looking jogging sneakers today.
And some training clothes.
I’m so gonna have to go into some heavy training to pull this one off, I’m afraid =)
All Psyched now.

A and I have decided to beat the (Swedish) mile in a race next year. The race Tjejmilen is planned for August -07 which means that I will have to put in some serious training from now on. Maybe we could test what shape we’re in by entering the Vårruset in May –07, it is a 5 km race.

I guess that the “getting-into-shape” part will have to contain a mix of working the treadmill and outdoors jogging to get into shape in time. Judging from last week this “beating the mile” thing is within reach. I mean how hard can it be? The race is a year from now.

Jogged 5 kilometers on the treadmill today on just under 40 minutes. Went home from the gym and made pancakes with raspberry jam and ice cream. I’m so full I can hardly move.

Jogged 5(!) km today.
Just kept on going.
Couldn’t stop.
Energy.
Me and my iPod.
U2 and Metallica in my ears.
I’m proud!
And hungry!
Lunch!
